Disclosures & Methodology
What this software is (and is not)
Zone Terminal is independent, read-only market analytics software. It computes deterministic structural measurements from exchange price, volume and open-interest data and displays them. It is not a SEBI-registered investment adviser or research analyst, and nothing it shows is a recommendation, a solicitation, or a forecast of returns.
- It never requests broker order or holdings permissions, never places orders, and never reads demat holdings.
- It does not publish profit claims, leaderboards, or "guaranteed" levels. Your private journal is visible only to you.
- Labels such as BULLISH, BEARISH, CHOPPY, PICK and EVENT RISK are outputs of the formulas below, not advice.
- Every formula and constant used to rank instruments and draw levels is published on this page.
1-minute Strength Score
raw_strength = |LTP − day_open| / ADR50 (ADR50 = mean daily range, last 50 sessions)
CHOPPY (score = 0) when raw_strength < 0.25
or price crossed session VWAP ≥ 5 times in the last 15 five-minute bars
strength_score = raw_strength
× 1.15 if near-month futures OI change > +2.0%
× 1.10 if the parent sector index moves the same wayPrice, VWAP and levels use the cash/spot series; open interest comes from the paired near-month future. Direction is BULLISH when LTP is above the day's open, BEARISH when below. Each side keeps its top 20 names. The percentile shown (e.g. p99.8) is the share of the whole universe with a strictly lower signed score.
Two-stage PICK rule
Stage 1 · EVENT RISK if |%change vs prev close| > 3.5 × ADR50% or exchange price-band / F&O-ban flag
→ shown in amber; OB, Z, S1, R1, R2 levels are withheld
Stage 2 · the first 3 eligible names per side are labelled PICK · BULLISH #1..#3 / PICK · BEARISH #1..#3
at most 2 per sector → otherwise NOT PICKED · sector cap
remaining board names → NOT PICKED · outside top 3Order Block (closed candles only)
1. Break of Structure a finished 5m candle CLOSES beyond the prior 3-bar pivot
(high[i] = max(high[i−3 … i+3])) or the first 15-minute range. Wicks never count.
2. Proof a 3-candle Fair Value Gap (bullish: low[j+2] > high[j])
or a close beyond the origin candle ≥ 1.0 × average body (14 bars)
3. Origin (OB) the last opposing candle before the impulse;
if its range > 0.6 × ADR50 the zone is capped to its body
Z proximal edge of the OB (top for bullish, bottom for bearish)
S1 / R1 invalidation: 0.1 × ATR14 beyond the distal edge. A candle CLOSE beyond it mitigates the OB.
R1, R2 (S1, S2 for bearish) next unswept liquidity: swing highs/lows, session extreme,
opposing unmitigated OB, previous-day high/low
R:R |R2 − Z| / |Z − S1| (R1 when only one pool exists)
Retest zone: LTP inside the OB or within 0.2% of Z, R:R ≥ 1.5, and LTP on the matching side of VWAP.Swing mode applies the same rules to closed 1-hour candles. Retest notifications (Telegram / Web Push) are sent only for PICK names, at most once per name and direction every 30 minutes.
Contract rules used in the risk panel
Lot sizes and expiries follow the post-2025 exchange rules (weekly options only for NIFTY and SENSEX). On an index expiry day, short index options carry an additional Extreme Loss Margin of Strike × Lot × 0.02, and calendar-spread margin benefit is not available on the expiring leg.
Data and limitations
Market data comes from licensed broker feeds and can be delayed, incomplete or wrong. Missing minutes are back-filled from the broker's history API and never invented. Replay mode uses synthetic data and is labelled REPLAY. Past structure does not predict future prices.
